So I asked, “If you scan an Ansel Adams negative would you have an Ansel Adams Image” and the correct answer was “NO!”

 

Here’s why. Ansel Adams believed that to get the most out of a Photograph you needed to expose the film for one area of brightness and then in the developing process expose for the other area of brightness. (The Zone System). So if you just scanned one of his negatives, you would only have half of his art.

If you scanned an Ansel Adams negative, would you have an Ansel Adams Image?

 

The answer is no.
